Ubisoft has said it is currently considering other changes to his torch in future patches as well, such as lowering the overall amount of fuel to make breaching a wall completely be a more difficult decision to make.
This might not be the end of Maverick’s nerfing, either. His secondary gadget has also been swapped from a smoke grenade to a stun grenade instead, as the tactic of throwing the smoke to cover where a hole is being burned was much too difficult for the enemy to counter.
Because of that, his blowtorch is now less effective against barbed wire – taking up to half of the fuel to destroy placed wire – and the torch is louder, making it easier for the defenders to find his burned holes. Maverick, one of the two new operators for Grim Sky, is the recipient of the most changes, as players have criticised him for being too universally useful in the few days he’s been available on the TTS.
